Dawn Breaking

As Mercy Unfailing rides the dawn and awakens all the children of Light, I am reminded of the Cross and the price paid to buy my stone cold heart back from the Enemy. As I rise in the morning, before the breaking of Dawn, I am fully aware of the Life given to this once dead man...

Mercy spills over me and Unfailing Love washes away my salty tears. Shame and regret are no more. There is only Grace where they once stood, shouting at me from the spectator’s stands, jeering me and swearing at me that I could not be Loved. I had not yet come to the realization that I could not be any less loved than on my worst day as a sinner. The marks of Love in His wrists, His feet and His side, are a constant reminder of my Redemption. Yes, it cost Him a lot, but He spared Himself not; He was determined to reach that prize of Joy set before Him.

My soul stirs and my thirst begins before I climb out of bed. Thirsty for righteousness and Hungry for Unfailing Love. My friend, closer than a brother, greets me with a Love that will not let me go. The promise of His Presence, He will go before me, as I make my way to divinely appointed encounters. My daily work and routine are anything but mundane, an adventure, to be sure, as I walk closely with Him. This is not always true for me, and some days I lag far behind, yet I know His Love is Constant.

We are friends of God, sons and daughters adopted, attempting to stay in step with Him. He loves us so dearly and we should rest in that fact. He has sung songs over us at night and our name is graven on His Hands. We are children of the King, never unloved. The weight of self-expectation can be dropped and He will carry us when we are too weary to travel on. Strivings cease and fears are stilled, while lounging in the Lavish Love of Christ. We lie down in green pastures. When we are still, He calms our hearts.

Love so Amazing for breakfast and Nourishing Grace for the day ahead. As we prepare for the day, we are reminded of His purpose for us. We are created for Him and His Glory, and by Him and Through Him only, we are sustained. Our hearts find Hope in Him, Comfort through Prayer throughout our day. The Giver of Life and Unconditional Love holds us together when we feel like falling apart. Opportunities throughout our workday to Trust Him more and intercede for others abound. With our hearts filled with Compassion for others because of Him, we can be sensitive to the need for Him all around us. To Love as He has Loved us, by resting in that Love.

Dawn breaking, awakening to a new day, another day to share this Christ with others. To announce Joy with our Life and Love for others. To proclaim His goodness and give voice to His Mercy and Grace poured out over us. To offer Patience, when we feel that we have none; and Grace when a wrong has been done.

The sum of our lives comes down to this: To live and love as Christ has done so with us. To make our home in Him and remain there. To hide our life in Him, under the shadow of His wings, in the cleft of the rock. To remain dead to sin and its tempting enticement. To live in, for, and through Him and not in our own strivings, power, and strength. This is the call as dawn breaks.
