In the quiet moments, in the stillness when the earth is just beginning to awaken to new possibilities for the day, He is already there. As we rise from resting and begin to start the processes of Life for us again; the morning coffee, the splashing of our face, we begin to contemplate the day ahead and the things we will be doing, and He is there. The flowers lift their heads to embrace the morning sun, in worship to their Creator. The stars disappear behind the bluing atmosphere as our glimpse into the heavens closes. He gives the dawn of the new day to us to remind us that His mercies are new.
The stirring of the house as we slowly shake off the sleep and our hearts begin to stir inside of us. Possibilities abound, along with His Grace. He has raised us to New Life and He has raised us to a New Day. Though there are many thoughts, many conversations not yet begun and the full day ahead, He takes delight in our waking activities and waits for us to call on Him for strength, wisdom and power. His Unfailing Love kisses us each morning and His loving embrace reminds us that we are His children. The clock ticks, the coffee is brewing and we have our plans, but He will direct our steps as we seek His will. Guidance is given for anticipated conversations with friends.
We are glad that we can go to worship the Author of Life, with other sisters and brothers in Christ. Sanctification is working in us a work we could never do on our own. The work He has begun, He will be Faithful to complete. As we cooperate with Him and our Helper, unnecessary parts of our life will be stripped away. Former things are passing away and a New Work has commenced in us. We are so thankful for that! All we have been and all that we dream of being are being renovated into a likeness more like Him and less like us.
The traffic is less today than any other on our road. Less work to go to, less shopping to be done. All is at rest. Rest from the work week, rest from our labors. He gives rest and respite. Oh, how He longs for us all to find it in Him! But many will sleep in, unaware of what they are missing. The God who breathed the stars, galaxies and moons into existence and the breath of Life into man, wants to breathe New Life into each of us. But sin has marred His image and made His name into a word for cursing. Yet He loves us all and longs for intimacy with each of us, sinners and saints alike.
Stepping out the door, to a brand new day, we are shining as stars and are available to His arranged meetings. We go, Bible in hand to morning services, countless thousands of us. Followers of the Way, united by the One, Giver of Life, Love and Grace. Our hearts in unison cry out and long for our lives to be so transformed that we sin less and less. We long for perfect fellowship with everyone and that day will come. Until then, we stay close to Him and guard our hearts. We are thankful for this day, a reminder of His great work that He continuously does in us! A reminder of a Greater Love that once was slain for us, so that we could be given a New Name.
